Listening: Magic Tapes by The Magician

So my most recent obsessions in music are the Magic Tapes by The Magician on SoundCloud. I've always been a huge music person (some may say snob but you won't hear it from me), but over the summer I moved in with my long time friend and biggest musical influence, Hailey. Now what you need to know about me and Hailey is that we have been friends for years but for a while there we would only see each other maybe once or twice a year. And what did we do? We went to shows. Shows on shows on shows, basically every band or Dj I've ever seen has been with her. So when we moved in together the obvious thing to do was go to more shows.

Then she got me on soundcloud, which I'd heard of and been on briefly before but never like this. So I'm an artist as you know, which means I spend about 90% of my time in front of the computer designing things or in the studio printing things. Basically I listen to music all day. Now on soundcloud Dj's have this tendency to upload mixes upwards of 3 hours long (the longest I've listened to). This may be obvious to some of you but I was completely floored. Now that's pretty much all I listen to, and the first ones I found were the Magic Tapes.

I found The Magician through his popular remix of Rather Be. I'd heard it somewhere and I think Tasty Network on youtube posted it at some point - who I've followed for a while because of Cryaotic - but I eventually followed the rabbit hole to the tapes and I'm in love. Just.. go try them out for yourselves. That's basically the point of this post. Another really great mix is the Caribou Essential Mix and I'm still steamed that I had to miss him when he came to Atlanta cause I was working that night..
