Making Strid(p)es
This past weekend I moved into a new townhome with my sister and we are THRILLED to not have any more roommates. We haven’t lived alone yet, not since living with our parents anyway, but we’ve known for a while that it was something we’ve always wanted to do. We were really concerned about splitting from the roommates with Raychle still in college, but we managed to get an affordable place we both love that’s a little closer in town. It’s a sea of boxes right now, or I’d share some pictures, but maybe I’ll do a before/after post (with decór) once we’re more settled in.
I’d been in the house we moved out of for 4 years, which is the longest I’ve lived any one place besides my childhood home. It’s a cute white brick house built in the 60s that a couple of friends and I managed to find and be approved for. We had great times and it was honestly the first house that felt like home since we lost our childhood house, but the new owners wanted to renovate and so we were uprooted yet again.
I’m not going to lie, I was very upset when I found out we had to move, but they gave us about 6 months advance notice so we had plenty of time to plan everything out. And we’re much better off at the place we’ve move into. For one thing, it’s just me and Raychle. For another, our commute is better. I haven’t washed my hair here yet but the old house couldn’t keep up with my mane so I would always run out of hot water. Hopefully that’ll be another bonus for moving! ✨
